Just wanted to catch everyone up that didn't already know

I haven't posted anything on my blog since early October, and then it was all about my mother-in-law's battle with cancer. Well, for all those on facebook and twitter ya'll already know this, but for those who only follow this blog she did pass away on October 5th.

The holidays, so far, haven't been too bad (don't get me wrong, Thanksgiving was rough, but not as hard as anticipated).

The kiddos have already taken their picture with Santa and the house is decorated. We're all looking forward to Christmas.

I'm hoping after the New Year to get back to posting more regularly, but we'll see. Until then, {{{HUGS}}} to you all!

My mother in law...the latest

Just a quick note:

My mother in law is in the hospital, and right now we're just trying to hold it together.

Her breast cancer came back with a vengence, and, unfortunately, has somehow invaded her liver which is now in the process of shutting down. There are a few things that the doctors are looking into, but right now there isn't much hope of her turning around this time. My husband & I took the kids to see her in the hospital, and she was coherent enough to know who they were and she was very happy to see them. The visit was very short as my mother in law is sleeping a lot. My father in law has already had a priest come in to give her last rites (as it was formerly known as the sacrament of the anointing of the sick) & we're all pretty much waiting right now. There is a small chance that it is a blood clot that is causing the liver failure, but the fear is if that is the case and they fix that the liver may already be gone.

Please keep us all in your thoughts and prayers. Telling the kids about everything was tough. Especially, when one of them isn't old enough to understand what's going on with everyone.

My new start...I know again :-p

I'd fallen so far off the wagon that I'm just starting over with the weight loss.

The good news: I haven't made it back to my all time high of 264.4 lbs Yay!
The bad news: I have gotten back to 243.4 lbs Yikes!

I know that this is entirely due to my lack of exercise.

So today I started using Wii Active, and I completely fell in love with it. Why? It has a journaling aspect that will definately keep me on track, and unlike My Fitness Coach it allows you to use the Wii Balance Board, and it allows you to decide low, medium or high impact for your workout. This is great since I recently reinjured my ankle and can workout on it, but I can't push it too much or I could cause further injury to that ankle. Even on the low impact I still got a fairly decent workout.

Anyway, I'm starting over today, and trying to take it a little bit at a time.

Not much going on, but here are the highlights

Life is slowly starting to slow down a bit. Work is still work and hubby and the kiddos are all relatively well and happy.

We've switched to Fios at our house and have LOVED it. More channels over all and more HD channels...woohoo! The best part? It's cheaper than what we had been using.

Started going back to church on a regular basis back in January and the kiddos love going where we attend now.

Weight loss has been going the wrong direction so my goal is to get back on the horse with exercise and eating well.

That's about all for now. I hope everyone else is doing well.

Wow! it's been nearly 3 months!

I promise that I have been very busy, but I also have let several things slide. This blog for weight for another.

Weekly Weighin

I have to get back on! So my goal this week is simple...exercise 3 days this week for 30 minutes (I mean I was doing 1 hour 5 days a week before I back up on that horse as it were.) Anyway, here are my results and as always don't forget to head over to One Weigh at a Time to check on the rest of the group!

All time high weight: 264.4 lbs
Weight last week: 215.4 lbs
This week's weight: 216.4 lbs

This week's personal gain: 1 lb.

Overall loss since October 8, 2007: 48.0 lbs

I have been eating well, and that showed in my body fat loss this week, but without exercise I know that I can't sustain back to it!

No weigh in for me this week

Lots going on at work and at home, but mostly work...the Super Bowl...Gasparilla...and yesterday the inauguration...not that any of these have a direct impact on my workload (except Gasparilla), but the station has stayed busy with coverage. A lot of the people I work with have stuff they have to do with the Super Bowl. I am more of a backup for that (well backup for the week leading up to anyway).

What I'm trying to say, in not so many words, is this:
I had to cancel my weigh in appointment this week in order to concentrate
on other stuff so I can't really give an accurate update to everyone at this
point. I will be back up and running with an update next week.

My new year thus far!

I've been sick with (as I found out yesterday) the flu for almost 4 days now. Today is the first day that I've had any energy whatsoever. Still in bed, but not sleeping 14 to 16 hours today. Maybe, I'll be able to go to work tomorrow.
